An Introduction to 1 Timothy

We just started a new series in 1 Timothy. Pastor Gabe gave an introduction on Sunday, talking about the themes that we'll study as we go through this book. You can catch the first sermon in the player on the right side of this page (or click on our Sermons link). We're welcoming Jc Ledford back to lead worship this Sunday in both services. Please join us for church!

At the Business Meeting Yesterday

At our business meeting yesterday, the church membership voted to pay off the remaining balance of our debt. As of today, First Southern Baptist Church is now debt-free! Praise the Lord! We still need and depend on your support to operate. Please continue to contribute to this ministry with your financial gifts.

We also voted on and approved a measure to move forward with establishing an eldership. The method by which those elders will be chosen has not yet been decided. We'll reserve that discussion for a special business meeting later in May.

Wednesday Night Fellowship

For tonight's fellowship meal, we are having goulash, bread, and desert. If you haven't eaten with us before, the meal is free! Otherwise, it's $4 per adult, $2 per child, or $8 will feed the whole family. The meal starts at 5:00 with AWANA and adult Bible study at 6:00. Our adult study is going through the book of Genesis. We meet in the garage classroom.

We Are Having Church!

We are still having church this morning, with services at 8:30 and 11:00. Surprisingly, we actually didn't get enough snow to have our back lot plowed. It's only about an inch of snow, but be cautious!

Weather Notice for Sunday

From Pastor Gabe: "We're supposed to be getting snow and ice in the area with as much as 8 inches of accumulation this evening. The snow will likely not end until noon tomorrow. The building will be open and we will still have a church service for those that come. But I advise you to be discerning and safe! I can't promise that the lots will be clear in the morning. Our Sunday evening service at 6pm is still on. The roads and the parking lot will be clearer by then. If that's easier for you to make, please come!"

The business meeting that was to be held in the afternoon on Sunday has been cancelled, and we will reschedule another Sunday. We're also cancelling our evangelism class this evening. The start for the class has been moved to March 8 at 7pm.
