Church Services Moved

Our services this morning were going to be held at Heritage Park for the all-church community worship service. Due to the threat of rain, we're moving to JC Naz (on South Washington). Still being held at 9:30. Come and worship our Lord together with other Christians around Junction City!

Community Worship Service This Sunday!

This coming Sunday, June 29, we are having our annual all-church worship service in Heritage Park (located on the corner of 6th and Washington). The service starts at 9:30 so we can beat the heat. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, sit out under the shade, and enjoy worshiping with other believers from around Junction City. Our band from First Southern Baptist Church is leading the music!

Because of the community service, we will not be holding any Sunday services at the church, morning or evening. There is still a VBS meeting in the afternoon, and a softball game in the evening. The game will be held at Anneberg Park in Manhattan at 7:00, Field 3.

Wednesday Evening Bible Studies

Last week, we started in on two new Bible studies. The first is our adult co-ed Bible study which is reading through the book of Esther. The class meets in the garage classroom behind the church (it is air-conditioned). The second is a ladies Bible study discussing holiness from the book Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges. Come in through the back door. Both classes start at 6:00 and will wrap up around 7:00. There is childcare available!

Softball Game Cancelled

Due to the storm, the softball game this evening has been cancelled. However, we still have church at 6:00! Come join us as we're starting in on Matthew 7!

Modesty In Today's Culture

On Father's Day last week, we addressed the men, admonishing to live lives of holiness. This morning, it's the ladies' turn! We're going to be looking at 1 Timothy 2:9-10 and talking about behaving modestly and with self-control.

Whether you're single, married, are young or old, this is an extremely important topic in our culture today, one that is often shied from in the pulpit. But we carefully want to approach this issue as it pertains to living godly lives in Christ Jesus. Join us as we continue our study through 1 Timothy.

Wednesday Night Bible Studies

Tonight, a new women's study kicks off, studying through the book Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges. The point is to examine those sins we might shrug off as being "okay," and realize God's calling toward lives of holiness. Even if you don't have a copy of the book, come anyway! Megan Severe will be leading in the Fellowship Hall.

Also, the adult co-ed class will begin a study in the book of Esther led by Pastor Gabe. Just bring your Bible! The class meest in the garage classroom (behind the church -- it's air conditioned). Both studies start at 6:00 and last an hour. Childcare is provided.

Holy Hands (Father's Day Message)

Yesterday, Pastor Gabe shared from 1 Timothy 2:8 and delivered a message to the men on lifting holy hands, praying in every place and promoting unity as an example of Christ.

Yes, There's Church This Morning!

We had some rough storms last night. Lots of branches were blown down, and there have been some neighborhoods without power. We want to let you know, though, that there is power at the church, we've got the AC going, and are ready to worship the Lord this morning. Services are at 8:30 and 11:00, with Sunday school for all ages at 9:45. Come and be with us! And a Happy Father's Day to the dads out there!

Softball Practice and Schedule

We have softball practice this evening at 6:30 at South Park in Junction City. (For a map to South Park, click here.) The next game will be this Sunday at Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Field 5 at 9:00. A complete game schedule has now been posted at the bottom of the calendar page. We are presently 2-0 on the season! Come on out and cheer on our team, Sermon On the Mound!

(If you're a player and haven't yet paid your $15 to be on the team, remember that is due.)

Don't Forget to Give!

The summer months can be kind of tough for our church financially. One reason is because a lot of folks tend to vacation in June and July. But one of the biggest reasons, for us in particular being a military church, is because families PCS out this time of year and move on to other places. We ask that you not forgot your tithes and offerings to our church. We've made it easy to give online with a credit or debit card. Click on the "DONATE" button on the top right. And thank you for contributing to this ministry!

Pastor Gabe Is Not On Facebook

If you've been trying to find Pastor Gabe on Facebook, he hasn't deleted you as a friend. He's deleted his Facebook page entirely. You can read his short explanation on his blog by clicking here. In the meantime, he's been hard at work on When We Understand the Text, an online video ministry that started up from our church, devoted to helping people understand the context of scripture. You can view our most recent video by visiting the website, There's also a link to the page which you can find in the column down on the right.
