The Message of the Cross

Image
On Sunday, January 1, we are back to our regular line-up of week-long ministry. Sunday school is at 9:30 and worship at 10:30 where we will also participate in the Lord's supper. Pastor Gabe will preach from 1 Corinthians 1:18 on the message of the cross, entitled "Saved."

We'll be hosting Bible Lunch Tuesday for the high school students at its usual times. MOPS is on Wednesday beginning at 9:00. In the evening we have our fellowship meal at 5:00 and AWANA and Journey at 6:00. Pastor Gabe will host Bible study and supper at his home on Thursday evening.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Services

We will be hosting our Christmas Eve candlelight service on Saturday evening beginning at 5:30. The one-hour service will include our carol-sing by candle and Christmas lights. We'll take up an offering for the Lottie Moon missions fund. Pastor Gabe will share a short Christmas message. Then we'll all gather downstairs for Christmas cookies and punch. Bring some cookies if you are able! We will provide the punch.

On Christmas Day, we will have service at 10:30 (but there will be no 9:30 Sunday school classes). Pastor Gabe is going to be preaching on the glory of God in our Savior Jesus Christ. Please join us for worship this Christmas weekend!

Yes, We're Having Church!

We got a couple of inches of snow, but that's not going to keep us away from church this morning! The parking lot will be plowed, the heat on, and the coffee brewing. Come for warm fellowship and the word of God. Sunday school is at 9:30 and the service is at 10:30.

Last week, Pastor Gabe preached a sermon entitled Divided. This week, his sermon will be called United, preaching once again from 1 Corinthians 1:10-17. A special announcement is coming up at the end of the message. If the weather has you snowed in, we'll have the sermon uploaded to the website later in the day.

A Sermon on God's Calling

The title of the sermon on Sunday is Called. What does it mean to be called? What does God's calling sound like? Pastor Gabe will be reading from 1 Corinthians 1:1-9 as we get started with our series through 1 Corinthians.

Since it is the first Sunday of the month, we'll also be gathering at the Lord's table for communion. The kids are going to help start decorating our Christmas trees on stage during Kids Connection. And we'll be singing some Christmas carols! Please join us for Sunday school at 9:30 and church worship at 10:30.
